Schools Can Continue Morning Classes Till June 30
In a memorandum issued recently, the department asked District Inspectors of Schools to allow institutions under their jurisdiction to decide timings based on local conditions.
The extension comes after the department’s June 1 order allowing schools to switch to morning schedules for two weeks following reports of high temperatures in several districts after the reopening of the new academic session.
Schools have been asked to ensure that revised timings do not affect academic activities.
District inspectors were directed to communicate the decision to institutions in advance so that teachers and students can adjust their schedules.
The order applies to all districts except the hill areas and will remain in effect till June 30.
