Relief Materials Recovered from Ex-TMC MLA’s Godown; Investigation Underway

MP, June 6, 2026, Andal : Massive public outrage was sparked in Andal after a huge number of government supply relief materials were recovered from the godown of former TMC MLA of Pandabeswar, Narendranath Chakraborty.

According to sources, on Friday, local residents of Bankola in Andal gathered in front of a godown adjacent to Chakraborty’s residence.

Among the gathering of the local people, some BJP workers were reportedly present.

Out of suspicion of something illegal stored inside, the mob broke the lock of the godown and found the relief materials.

It is alleged that the former MLA used to sell the relief materials sent by the government for distribution among the poor and disaster-hit people.

As soon as the incident came to light, more people from the area gathered at the spot.

It was learnt that a large number of sarees, mosquito nets, relief tarpaulins and other items, including school uniforms, were found.

Apart from this, packets of condoms were recovered from a room in the same godown.

Cops from Andal Police Station reached the spot, brought the situation under control and launched an inquiry.

Chakraborty denied allegations of forcibly bringing people to the venue or vandalising the godown.
