Kolkata Police Transfers 17 Inspectors in Administrative Reshuffle


MP, June 15, 2026, Kolkata : In a major overhaul in the city police administration, the Kolkata Police Chief Ajay Nand has transferred 17 Inspectors, including several Officers-in-Charge (OCs) across Kolkata.

The official order, released on Sunday afternoon from the Lalbazar police headquarters, signals a comprehensive restructuring of the city’s field-level police administration.

According to the order, the OC of Taratala Police Station, Koushik Singha Roy, moved to Hare Street Police Station, while the present OC of Hare Street Police Station, Lopsang Tshering Bhutia, has been sent to the Detective Department.

Silash Toppo, the Additional OC of Rajabagan Police Station, will replace Singha Roy.

Ramachandran Vinod Kumar, the OC of Pragati Maidan Police Station, has been transferred to the Special Branch (SB), alongside the posting of Babai Bhattacharjee to head the Pragati Maidan Police Station, who was Additional OC in Bowbazar Police Station.

These apart, Manoj Kumar Biswas, OC Narkeldanga, has been sent to the SB.

The Additional OC of Watgunge Police Station, Subhankar Sarkar, will replace Biswas.

The OC of Thakurpukur Police Station, Rajib Sahoo, has been posted in the Detective Department (DD), while Sukhendu Kumar Chail will be replacing Sahoo.

Along with these, several other Inspectors of the Kolkata Police have been transferred, including two of the Non-Investigation (NI) cadre.
