Bengal Govt Transfers 18 Senior IAS Officers in Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle
According to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (PAR), 1993-batch IAS officer Anup Kumar Agarwal was relieved of his responsibilities as Commissioner of the Jalpaiguri Division and appointed Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the PAR Department as well as the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Textiles Department.
Senior IAS officer Nandini Chakraborty, a 1994-batch officer who was serving as Principal Coordinator of Developmental Affairs in the Chief Minister’s Office, has been appointed ACS of the Department of Science and Technology and Biotechnology. She will also hold additional charge of the Housing Department.
Surendra Gupta, who was serving as Commissioner of the Presidency Division and holding additional charge as Principal Secretary of the Transport Department, has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Department of Land and Land Reforms.
Parvez Ahmed Siddiqui has been transferred from the Food and Supplies Department to the State Gazetteers. He has been replaced by 2004-batch IAS officer Jagdish Prasad Meena, who has been appointed Secretary of the Food and Supplies Department.
The Transport Department will now be headed by Ravi Inder Singh, who has been shifted from the Self-Help Group and Self-Employment Department.
Rajesh Kumar Sinha has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Irrigation and Waterways Department.
IAS officer Saumitra Mohan will continue as Secretary to the Governor and will additionally serve as Secretary of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department.
Rajiv Kumar has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Technical Education and Skill Development Department.
Several women officers have also been given new assignments. Moumita Godara Basu, who was serving as Secretary of the Health Department, has been appointed Secretary of the Department of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare.
Rachna Bhagat has been posted as Secretary of the Labour Department.
