Supreme Court Seeks Status Report on DA Clearance from Bengal Government


PTI, May 28, 2026, Kolkata : The Supreme Court of India on Wednesday sought a status report from the Bengal government on pending dearness allowance (DA) dues of state employees and deferred the hearing till the third week of July.

The Supreme Court had earlier directed the state government to immediately clear 25 per cent of the outstanding DA arrears and pay the remaining amount in phases.

Meanwhile, the state postponed Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s meeting with employees’ representatives to June 1.
