Police investigate murder of Suvendu Adhikari’s aide; bikes seized and teams sent outside Bengal

PTI, May 9, 2026, Kolkata : Police probing the murder of Chandranath Rath, personal assistant to Suvendu Adhikari, have seized two motorcycles believed to have trailed the victim’s car before the attack.
CCTV footage helped trace the bikes from locations near Badu Road and Barasat.
Investigators found the chassis numbers tampered with, indicating an attempt to conceal identities.
A police team has been sent to a northern Indian state, while border police stations have been alerted.
Police suspect the attackers carried out prior reconnaissance and may have received local logistical support.
Several people have been detained for questioning, though no arrests had been made till Friday night
