Mamata Banerjee meets TMC legal cell members, stresses organisational rebuilding
Addressing party functionaries, Banerjee asked leaders and workers to treat politics as a “passion, not a profession”, stressing that dedication to ideology and grassroots connection should remain the party’s guiding principles.
She made it clear that the organisation must now focus on regaining public trust and strengthening its base from the booth level.
Sources said Banerjee also sent a firm message to leaders unhappy within the party, stating that those wishing to leave were free to do so. She reportedly said the party would be rebuilt “from scratch” if necessary.
During the meeting, she instructed leaders to submit area-wise reports within a week on the political situation and alleged post-poll developments. Banerjee emphasised regular block and town-level meetings.
The TMC leadership is currently trying to reorganise after its electoral setback, amid reports of internal dissatisfaction and post-poll political tensions in several districts.
