WBSSC to issue recommendation letters for special educators on April 7–8
Officials clarified that this regularisation process is distinct from the ongoing recruitment of 1,941 Special Education Teacher posts notified via the 2025 Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and the 1st State Level Selection Test (SLST).
“This is a regularisation for those already in service and separate from the recruitment process for fresh vacancies, which will follow the usual procedure,” a WBSSC official said.
Earlier, on March 14 and 16, recommendation letters were issued to 95 candidates. The upcoming phase will cover about 130 more, bringing the total number of regularised teachers to approximately 225.
Distribution will take place at the commission’s office at Acharya Sadan in Salt Lake for candidates serving in Coochbehar, Dakshin Dinajpur, Hooghly, Howrah, Jalpaiguri, and Jhargram districts. Details of eligible candidates under PBSSM will be uploaded on April 4 on the WBSSC official website.
Candidates have been advised to carry eight recent coloured stamp-size photographs, along with all required documents and testimonials, including identity proof in original and self-attested copies.
Meanwhile, the recruitment process for the 1,941 posts remains pending, with examinations likely to be scheduled after the election period, officials said.
