Kejriwal, Tejashwi voice support for Mamata, campaign for TMC
Addressing a rally in Ballygunge, Arvind Kejriwal alleged a “BJP-EC conspiracy” behind the deletion of nearly 27 lakh voter names, urging affected voters to support the ruling party.
“Go and tell your friends, relatives and neighbours to vote for TMC candidates. Didi has to win this fight against the BJP,” he said, while also accusing the Centre of using agencies for political vendetta.
Campaigning in Howrah and Hooghly, Tejashwi Yadav struck a confident note, linking the Bengal battle to national politics.
“After Bengal, the BJP’s decline will accelerate. In 2029, Narendra Modi will be ousted from the Centre,” he asserted, projecting the TMC as part of a larger opposition momentum.
Joining the campaign trail, Hemant Soren addressed gatherings alongside TMC leaders, emphasising federal unity against what he termed “central overreach”.
“This is not just Bengal’s fight; it is a fight to protect the rights of states and the Constitution. We stand firmly with Mamata Banerjee,” he said.
Adding a cultural dimension, actor-politician Vijay, popularly known as Thalapathy Vijay, who termed the BJP as their “ideological rival”, released a video message praising Banerjee’s leadership.
“Mamata’s fight is my inspiration. This is a battle to protect democracy and people’s rights,” he said, urging voters to reject divisive politics.
With INDIA bloc leaders sharing a common pitch, the TMC campaign has gathered momentum, positioning the Bengal polls as a crucial front in the opposition’s broader challenge to the BJP.
