Sikkim Food Products Highlighted at International Food and Hospitality Fair in New Delhi

IPR, March 14, 2026, New Delhi/Gangtok : Diverse food products from Sikkim were showcased at the 40th edition of AAHAR – The International Food & Hospitality Fair 2026.

The event was inaugurated on March 10, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

Organised jointly by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the fair continued until Saturday (March 14, 2026).

The Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, participated in the event with a delegation of 28 entrepreneurs and officials.

The entrepreneurs from Sikkim engaged in the food processing sector participated in AAHAR to showcase, sell, and develop market linkages for their products.

Major food products from Sikkim such as Dalle chilli, ginger, cardamom, turmeric, pulses, rice, pickles, traditional snacks, tea, fruit beverages and vegetables, and other processed items were showcased.

Their participation was supported under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India.

This initiative provides valuable exposure for Sikkim’s MSMEs engaged in food processing, enabling them to showcase their products, explore new technologies, and understand international market trends.

It also reflects the Government of Sikkim’s vision of promoting entrepreneurship and strengthening the MSME ecosystem.

Over the years, AAHAR has become one of Asia’s most recognised brands in food and hospitality exhibitions, serving as a leading B2B platform for manufacturers, importers, distributors, and entrepreneurs.

AAHAR 2026 attracted significant participation from countries such as Australia, Canada, the United States, and several European nations, showcasing global cuisines, premium ingredients, and advanced hospitality solutions.

The fair provides a platform for importers and distributors to connect with international brands seeking entry into the Indian market.

Exhibits this year focused on sustainability, innovation, and digital trade facilitation, reinforcing AAHAR’s role as a hub for global collaboration.

Through this participation, Sikkim’s entrepreneurs gained opportunities to establish market linkages with national and international buyers, enhance brand visibility, and adopt global best practices.

Their presence at AAHAR 2026 highlights the state’s commitment to fostering innovation, building sustainable enterprises, and integrating local businesses into global value chains.

The Commerce & Industries Department recognises this participation as a strategic step towards strengthening the MSME ecosystem in the state, improving the scale of MSME production, and expanding market networks.
