India Hands Over 50 Military Utility Vehicles to Nepal Army, Strengthening Defence Ties

PTI | NEW DELHI | FEB 9, 2026: The Indian Army on Monday handed over 50 military utility vehicles to the Nepal Army at the India-Nepal border, highlighting the “enduring bond” of friendship and trust between the two forces.

In a post on X, the Indian Army shared pictures of the handover, noting that the vehicles will be formally presented by the Indian Ambassador to Nepal during a ceremony in Kathmandu. The initiative reflects India’s commitment to enhancing the capacity-building efforts of the Nepal Army and underscores the close cooperation between the two militaries.

The Indian Army also highlighted its defence cooperation with Myanmar. A Mobile Training Team from the Simulator Development Division installed and operationalised a 12-lane Infantry Weapon Training Simulator at the Myanmar Army Combat Forces School in Bahtoo.

“Comprehensive training was imparted to Myanmar Army personnel on system handling, scenario execution, and technical maintenance,” the army said, emphasising the ongoing efforts to strengthen regional defence collaboration.
