Final Electoral Roll for West Bengal to Be Published on February 28

PTI, KOLKATA, FEB 10, 2026: The Election Commission on Tuesday revised the schedule for the SIR exercise in West Bengal, announcing that the state's final electoral rolls will now be published on February 28.

In a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of West Bengal, the EC said the decision was taken in compliance with the Supreme Court's February 9 order. Earlier, the final voters' list of West Bengal, where polls are slated to be held after the completion of the exercise, was slated to be published on February 14.

"...in compliance of the Hon'ble Supreme Court's direction, the Commission has decided to revise the programme of ongoing SIR in the State of West Bengal as follows," the letter said.

As per the revised timeline, hearings of notices will be completed by February 14, followed by scrutiny of documents and disposal of cases by February 21.

Rationalisation of polling stations will be carried out by February 25, while health parameter checks will conclude by February 27. The final electoral roll for the state will be published on February 28, according to the letter shared by the CEO.
