Three Held for Defrauding Retired Government Officer of Rs 1.70 Crore in Noida
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) Shaivya Goyal stated that the cyber criminals defrauded the retired official, Omprakash Srivastava, who resides in Sector 62, by threatening him with involvement in a money laundering case. They then digitally arrested him for three days.
The retired official filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police Station on September 16. Goyal mentioned that during the investigation, the cyber crime police arrested Prince Kumar, Avnish Kumar, and Vidyasagar Yadav from Bihar on Thursday evening.
A police officer added that a check on the portal revealed that more than six complaints had been filed against the arrested individuals in various states. He also stated that the fraudulent funds had been deposited into the accounts of the accused, and police are currently searching for others involved in the crime.
