Nepal’s Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal Vows to Reopen Corruption Files Stalled Due to Political Influence
KalimNews, Kathmandu, September 26, 2025 : Nepal’s Home Minister, Om Prakash Aryal, has announced that all investigation files that were previously halted due to political connections will now be reopened and investigated.
Aryal made the statement on Friday after inspecting the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police. He emphasized the importance of good governance for maintaining law and order, and stressed that political interference in investigations would no longer be tolerated.
"All files that were halted or disrupted due to political connections will now move forward," Aryal stated. "This will not be allowed to continue. The mandate of this government is to ensure good governance. Without good governance, there can be no peace and security, and without peace and security, elections cannot be conducted within six months."
He further added that political connections had obstructed good governance in the past, particularly in investigations involving economic crimes and corruption. Aryal has directed that all barriers to investigations be removed, ensuring that they are carried out professionally and impartially.
Aryal also instructed the head of CIB, Manoj KC, to ensure that no investigation is halted due to external influence, reiterating the importance of transparency and accountability in all criminal investigations.
Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal Launches Digital Comment System for a Paperless Ministry
Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal announced the official launch of a digital comment system in the Ministry of Finance, aimed at reducing paperwork and improving operational efficiency.
Minister Khanal explained that this new system would eliminate the need for printing papers, thereby creating a more efficient workflow. Key features of the new system include:

Minister Khanal also emphasized the importance of fiscal discipline in response to the damages caused during the recent Gen-Z protests. In a meeting with local development partners, Khanal pledged to prioritize economic recovery through strict cost-cutting measures, focusing on the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure.
He also expressed gratitude for the substantial contributions of international partners to Nepal's economic and social development. Khanal highlighted that the interim government would focus on creating a transparent, accountable, and corruption-free society. He emphasized that this would be essential to maintain long-term peace and security in Nepal, especially as the country prepares for upcoming elections.
Education Minister Mahabir Pun Issues Four-Point Directive to Strengthen Technical Education
Nepal’s Education, Science, and Technology Minister Mahabir Pun has issued a four-point directive to the Centre for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) to immediately implement reforms in the country’s technical education system.
Minister Pun, who also chairs the CTEVT, called for the preparation of a framework to improve the existing curriculum and incorporate innovations. He instructed the council to submit the new framework by October 17.
Additionally, Pun directed the CTEVT to establish an integrated academic calendar and ensure that examination results are published within three months.
Minister Pun also emphasized the need to establish a mechanism to listen to complaints from students, parents, and teachers. This mechanism should record and address grievances in a transparent manner. Furthermore, all applications for affiliation received since 2069 BS (2012) must be thoroughly reviewed and a report submitted by October 17, with clear decisions made regarding whether or not affiliation will be granted.

Minister Rameshwor Khanal inaugurated the system by approving a file through GIOMS. Developed by the Department of Information Technology under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, GIOMS is designed to streamline various administrative tasks, including document registration, correspondence, attendance, leave approval, and record management.
The system will be mandatory for all official tasks in the Ministry of Finance and is expected to significantly improve transparency, accountability, and decision-making speed, aligning with the government's broader goal of a paperless administration.

Education, Science, and Technology Minister Mahabir Pun has called on Nepal’s youth to unite and participate in the upcoming elections in an organized and peaceful manner. "I call on all Nepali youth who dream of a corruption-free society, a prosperous Nepal, and a system where we can directly elect our President—please unite and prepare to participate in the elections without conflict," Pun said.
He emphasized the need for new, ethical, and determined youth leaders to replace old, ineffective politicians, stressing that a large-scale change is only possible when young people actively engage in politics.
