7 Militants Arrested in Manipur; Arms, Stolen Vehicles Recovered

Don't Miss

PTI | April 25, 2025 | Imphal : Security forces in Manipur arrested seven militants from banned outfits in coordinated operations across Imphal East and Imphal West districts, officials said on Friday.

The arrested individuals are linked to various factions of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), the People's Liberation Army (PLA), and the United National Liberation Front (UNLF). Police said they were involved in kidnapping, extortion from contractors, government staff, traders, and civilians.

The crackdown led to the seizure of arms, ammunition, Aadhaar cards, incriminating documents, cash, mobile phones, and two two-wheelers.

Meanwhile, as part of an ongoing anti-theft operation launched on April 16, police recovered six more stolen vehicles on Thursday night, taking the total count to 105 stolen cars and 12 two-wheelers recovered across the state.

Authorities have also intensified efforts against illegal use of tinted films, removing them from 3,900 vehicles since January 1.

Sophisticated arms were also recovered from Churachandpur and Imphal West districts during ongoing search and area domination operations.

In a public advisory, Manipur Police urged citizens not to believe or share unverified videos or fake social media posts, warning that legal action would be taken against those spreading misinformation.
