Haryana Police Arrest Kidnapper in Siliguri After Months of Investigation

Agencies, Siliguri, January 8, 2025 : In a significant breakthrough, the Haryana Police have apprehended a man in Siliguri on charges of kidnapping a minor. The accused, Vipin Kumar, a resident of Khagaria in Bihar, was arrested after several months of investigation. Police sources confirm that the case dates back to May 2024 when the family of the kidnapped minor filed a complaint at the Rewari Police Station in Haryana.

According to the police, while the minor was rescued shortly after the initial incident, the kidnapper, Vipin Kumar, managed to flee, prompting authorities to continue their search for him. The investigation remained active, and in September 2024, after the family filed another written complaint about the ongoing situation, the Haryana Police intensified their efforts.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Rewari Police, in coordination with Matigara Police Station in Siliguri, traced the kidnapper to the area. In a swift operation, they successfully located and rescued the minor from the Khaprail area. Vipin Kumar was arrested on charges of kidnapping.

On Wednesday, the Rewari Police presented the arrested individual in a Siliguri court, where he was taken into transit remand to be transported back to Haryana for further proceedings. Authorities in Haryana have confirmed that Vipin Kumar will face charges related to the kidnapping and will be thoroughly investigated in connection with the crime.

This arrest follows an extensive investigation, with both the Rewari Police and Matigara Police working together to bring the accused to justice.
