Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, October 10, 2024, Kolkata : In a heartbreaking incident that has cast a shadow over the Mahasaptami festivities, Dr. Kishloy Vikas Naik, a pediatrician at Shambhunath Pandit Hospital, suffered a devastating loss when his wife and daughter were killed in a tragic road accident on the afternoon of Saptami. The accident also left Dr. Naik severely injured.
The accident occurred on National Highway 19 at Amra in Shaktigarh as Dr. Naik was driving his family to his in-laws' house in Burdwan. Witnesses reported that the car lost control and crashed into the road divider. Tragically, both Rajshree Naik, 47, and their daughter Adrila Naik, 13, died at the scene.
Local authorities were alerted to the accident, and the Shaktigarh police promptly responded, transporting the injured doctor and the two victims to a government trauma care center. Despite medical efforts, Dr. Naik’s wife and daughter were pronounced dead upon arrival.
Dr. Naik, who remains unconscious and is receiving treatment for his injuries, faces a devastating emotional and physical recovery. The community has been deeply affected by this tragic event, as many come together to offer condolences and support for the grieving doctor.
This incident serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life, particularly during a time when families gather to celebrate the festive season.
