Supreme Court Postpones Hearing of RG Kar Case Scheduled for Thursday
Baby Chakraborty, KalimNews, September 4, 2024, New Delhi: The agitators in the RG Kar case were left disappointed as the Supreme Court postponed the hearing scheduled for Thursday. According to a notice issued by the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice's Bench will not be in session on Thursday. Consequently, all cases listed for hearing before the Chief Justice’s bench, including the RG Kar case, have been canceled for the day.
The notice from the Supreme Court specifically mentioned that the hearing of the RG Kar case has been adjourned. It is also confirmed that Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud will not be present on Thursday. Typically, cases that are heard before the Chief Justice will be rescheduled for a later date.
The notice did not provide any specific reason for the Chief Justice's absence, adhering to judicial rules and customs that often do not disclose the reasons behind such decisions. The postponement of the hearing has added another delay to the RG Kar case, which has been closely followed by the public and those involved in the ongoing protests.
