CBI Summons Four Calcutta Police Officers, Including Two Inspectors

This move follows initial allegations of negligence and mishandling of the investigation by local police. The CBI’s action suggests that there may be a larger conspiracy involved. 

The officers, including two sub-inspectors, are believed to be linked to the case, which has raised speculation that the investigation could reveal new dimensions to the situation. 

The case centers on the alleged rape and murder of a young student-doctor at RG Kar Hospital, which occurred on August 9. Allegations have surfaced that evidence was tampered with following the incident. 

The post-mortem report and the hasty cremation of the victim's body have intensified scrutiny. The situation at RG Kar Hospital remains tense, with ongoing protests, a strike by junior doctors, and continued disruptions at the hospital. 

The CBI’s intervention underscores growing concerns about the handling of the case and the possibility of uncovering a broader conspiracy.
