Governor C.V. Ananda Bose had flown from Kolkata to Delhi on Thursday afternoon and was at Bangabhaban in the evening. On Friday afternoon, he visited the residence of the Union Home Minister. The meeting lasted for a while, and following it, the governor reiterated his statement, "There is light at the end of the dark tunnel." His comment has been viewed as a positive indication amidst the current situation.
Earlier, the state BJP president had made a strong statement about the situation in Bengal during the RG Kar Medical College controversy at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. The president also demanded that the central government impose President's Rule in the state. Naturally, this meeting between the governor and the Home Minister raised several questions. However, it remains unclear what was discussed during their conversation.
Incidentally, the state BJP president has written to Amit Shah regarding the Chief Minister's controversial remarks about the state's role in the RG Kar Medical College issue. Later on Thursday, state BJP leaders, including Sukanta Majumdar and Dilip Ghosh, met with the governor. After the lengthy meeting, Sukanta Majumdar said, "I have provided detailed complaints about the RG Kar situation. The Chief Minister's statements from the highest office in the state are comparable to those of the Jamaat of Bangladesh."
