Narrative of peace and development of hills should be taken forward, says Gopal Lama
YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, APRIL 10, 2024 : The issues of peace, development and prosperity of the hills should be taken forward by all together, Trinamool Congress candidate for Darjeeling Lok Sabha seat Gopal Lama said on Wednesday.
The thoughts and ideas of the people were changing and this momentum should be maintained. “In the future everyone should work together,” he said,
Addressing an election meeting, he said the current Lok Sabha election was of special importance for the hills and people should support him in the interest of the Gorkha community.
He was given a rousing reception all the way from Teesta to Kalimpong town. Kalimpong MLA Ruden Sada Lepcha said the idea of Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha President Anit Thapa of establishing a new political culture in the hills of Darjeeling had been accepted in Kalimpong since 2021.
The same spirit would ensure the victory of Gopal Lama. Anit Thapa and Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress President Shanta Chhetri were present in the event.
