BJP will never land in Darjeeling, says Munish Tamang
Don't Miss
RAJESH SHARMA, EOI, JAIGAON, APRIL 23, 2024 : “The BJP will never land in Darjeeling,” Congress candidate for Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency Munish Tamang said on Monday, mocking at the inability of the chopper of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to land at Lebong helipad on Sunday.
“The fiasco yesterday was a very good instance of how the BJP will never arrive in Darjeeling, how the BJP will never makegood on its promises, and how the BJP will never land in Darjeeling,” Munish Tamang said during his poll campaigning at Panitanki near the Indo-Nepal border near Siliguri. During the day, Munish Tamang visited areas like Panitanki, Khoribari, Batasi, along the border and appealed for vote, which he said was very important to bring about a “change” in all areas under the Darjeeling constituency.
“Even if Amit Shah had addressed the Darjeeling rally, he would not have said anything new. As such, his inability to reach Darjeeling did not really make a difference,” Dr Tamang said.
Mingling with the crowd and interacting with them and trying to know of their problems, Munish Tamang said they should defeat the forces of corruption and communal forces plaguing the country.
"It is high time people realised the need to reject the politics of lies and deception of the BJP and the politics of tyranny and corruption of the Trinamool Congress," Tamang said.
The people this time around needed to vote for the much-needed change in Darjeeling. "For 15 years, Darjeeling has been fed on the politics of false assurances. We were promised a Permanent Political Solution for the Gorkha issues, Inclusion of left out communities in the ST list, a Central university, land rights for people, minimum wages for tea garden workers, and a Sainik school. But did we get any one of these promises fulfilled? The answer is a big 'No'," Munish Tamang said
