Yowan Mothay, EOI, KALIMPONG, APRIL 3, 2024 : Independent member of Kalimpong Panchayat Samiti Wangdi Tamang and independent member of Kalimpong Gram Panchayat Ongden Lepcha on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha.
Welcoming them to the party, MLA of Kalimpong Ruden Sada Lepcha said their joining would give the BGPM a lot of energy at constituency no. 33.
The victory of BGPM-supported Trinamool Congress candidate Gopal Lama for the Darjeeling Lok Sabha seat was certain, the MLA said.
The BJP had not done anything to the hills in the past. Everyone should support the BGPM to bring back happiness, peace and prosperity in the Darjeeling hills, he said.
“With the stronghold of the BGPM in the Darjeeling hills and the stronghold of the Trinamool Congress in Siliguri, we will certainly win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,” he said.
