14 candidates now in the fray in Darjeeling Constituency :Lok Sabha Election 2024


KalimNews, Kalimpong, 9 April 2024: After the scrutiny and after the deadline to withdraw the nomination papers for the parliamentary election ended, 14 candidates remain in the fray in the 2 Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency. The names of the 14 contesting candidates of the Darjeeling Parliamentary Constituency for the Lok Sabha election 2024 to be held in the second phase on 26 April 2024 have been finalised and symbols have been distributed to the contesting candidates.

The candidates are Gopal Lama (AITMC supported by BGPM), Munish Tamang (INC supported by CPI, Hamro Party), Raju Bista (BJP supported by GNLF, GJM, CPRM), Atasi Biswas (Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Party), Quamrul Haque (North Bengal People's Party), Pradhan Mardi (Ambedkar Party of India), Budharu Roy (Kamtapur People's Party (United), Shahriar Alam (Socialist Unity Centre of India (Com), Subodh Pakhrin (Gorkha Rashtriya Congress), Kalicharan Barman (Ind), Khusi Ranjan Mandal (Ind), Bandana Rai (Ind), Bishnu Prasad Sharma (Ind), and Bhupendra Lepcha (Ind).


Their symbols as distributed are as follows:  Gopal Lama (Flowers and grass), Munish Tamang (Hand), Raju Bista (Lotus), Atasi Biswas (Tiller), Quamrul Haque (Auto-Rickshaw), Pradhan Mardi (Coat), Budharu Roy (Walking stick), Shahriar Alam (Battery Torch), Subodh Pakhrin (Tube light), Kalicharan Barman (Football player), Khusi Ranjan Mandal (Computer), Bandana Rai (Door bell), Bishnu Prasad Sharma (Safety pin), and Bhupendra Lepcha (Violin).
