Raju Bista slams BGPM dharna as ‘drama'
Prashant Acharya, EOI, 12 February 2024, Siliguri : Darjeeling M. P. Raju Bista on Monday slammed the sit-in-protest of Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha and termed it as ‘drama.’
He also demanded that President’s Rule be imposed to prevent any untoward incident happening in the hills. Talking to newspersons at Bagdogra airport complex after his return from Delhi, Bista said: “BGPM's sit-in is a kind of drama.
This ‘dharna’ came after to pre-empt the action of the Centre. This party talks about development but does nothing. Before any untoward incident that burns the hills President Rule is necessary to protect the people.”
He said the measures announced in the Union Budget would promote tourism in the hills. The hills had developed and the Centre would announce more projects jn the area.
Under the rule of the Trinamool Congress and the BGPM, no development project had reached the common people.
