Neora Adventure Camp to be operational

YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, 3 FEBRUARY 2024 : The Neora Adventure Camp will be brought back into operation under the initiative of the Camp and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration Adventure Tourism.
The camp had been in operation till 2012.Four instructors of Himalayan Mountaineering Institute Darjeeling and chief coordinator of GTA Adventure Tourism Dawa Gyalpo Sherpa will provide basic rock climbing training. There are trainees from Lava and adjoining areas as well as Gorubathan.
A total of 30 trainees, both male and female, between the ages of 16 and 40 years of age, will receive training.
The site of the camp is now being cleaned under the initiative of Keju Bhutia of Lava Gitbeong Gram Panchayat.
The camp would be inaugurated on March 1 in the presence of GTA Chief Executive Anit Thapa, Executive Member Tourism Norden Sherpa and Kalimpong MLA Ruden Sada Lepcha, president of Neora Adventure Camp Thupden Bhutia and Secretary General Dipen Gurung said. —
