
MeT issues ‘light rain' forecast for North Bengal districts

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 30 January 2024: As predicted by the Meteorological department light drizzle was reported from the districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong and the state of Sikkim .
The Met has predicted that on 31st January, the Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may have light to moderate rain/snow with thunder likely at a few places over Darjeeling district. A few places of Kalimpong district may also have light to moderate rain with thunder. Light rain is also forecasted at one or two places over Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar & Alipurduar districts and dry weather is most likely to prevail over rest of the districts. Shallow to moderate fog is likely to prevail at one or two places.
Further forecast for the following days are as follows:
1st February: Light to moderate rain/snow with thunder likely at a few places over Darjeeling district. Light to moderate rain with thunder likely at a few places over Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri districts. Light rain likely at one or two places over rest districts. Shallow to moderate fog likely to prevail at one or two places.
2nd February : Light to moderate rain/snow with thunder likely at a few places over Darjeeling district. Light to moderate rain with thunder likely at a few places over Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri districts. Light rain likely at one or two places over rest districts. Shallow to moderate fog likely to prevail at one or two places.
3rd February: Light rain/snow likely at one or two places over Darjeeling district. Dry weather most likely over rest districts.
4th February: Little change is expected.
