Kalimpong administration opens NH 10 to Siliguri and SH to Darjeeling with restrictions: Alternative routes as before
All types of vehicles including 6 wheeler are allowed from Seti Jhora via Birrik Danra, Lohapul, Rambi/Reang, upto 27 Mile. From 29 Mile single lane traffic is allowed till Rabi Jhora.
The official order states that in addition to the alternative routes; movement of Small/Light Vehicles (4 wheelers) in singular lane from 6 am to 6 pm along NH 10 is allowed as per following arrangements ;
TOWARDS SILIGURI – Rangpo-Melli-Teesta Bridge – Rabi Jhora ( single lane starts) – Geilkhol – 29 Mile Baluwakhani (single lane ends) - onwards to Sethi Jhora
FROM SETHI JHORA – Birik Dara – Lohapul – Rambi/Reang – 27 Mile (upto this point 6 wheeler vehicle allowed) – 29 Mile Baluwakhani ( single lane starts) – Geil Khola – Rabi Jhora ( single lane ends) – onwards to Darjeeling/ Kalimpong/Rangpo
diversion of movement of vehicles along NH 10 the following alternative routes/traffic diversions were made;
A) For Small/Light Vehicles
1. Small vehicles will move from Rangpoo towards Siliguri via Munsong – 17 Mile Algarah Lava – Gorubathan and to Siliguri and vice versa round the clock
2. Small vehicles will move from Melli Bridge – Chitrey – Kalimpong town - Algarah Lava –– Gorubathan and to Siliguri and vice versa round the clock
B) For Heavy/Goods vehicles :
1. Heavy/Goods vehicle will move from Reshi - Pedong - Algarah – Lava - Gorubathan and to Siliguri and vice-versa round the clock
2. As an alternate route Heavy/Goods vehicle will move from Melli Bridge – Chitrey – Kalimpong town Algarah – Lava – Gorubathan and to Siliguri and vice versa from 9 pm to 6 am.
