Out of 2114 tests done 815 test positive, 414 recovered from Covid-19.
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 26 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:
7 Dies:
Tapan kr Das, 55 yr old of Milan Palli Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Gauri Nandi, 59 yr old of Rabindra Sarani Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Mahendra Nath Singha, 81 yr old of Kachakalli Chopra died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Parul Das, 75yr old of Kalkut Pradhan Nagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Hasan Ahmed, 60 yr old of Bandhunagar NJP Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Sefali Bhowmick, 50 yr old of Ektiasal Bhaktinagar i died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Shyamal Kr Bose, 74 yr old of Collegepara Raigunj died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri
815 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
2114 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 875, Kalimpong- 226, Jalpaiguri– 512, Alipurduar- 501. Of these samples 815 test positive.
306 in SMC:
306 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (240 in Darjeeling and 66 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
601 in Darjeeling district:
601 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 240 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
90 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (10 in Darjeeling Municipality, 22 in Kurseong Municipality, 4 in Mirik, 16 in Bijanbari, 24 in Sukhiapokhari, 14 in Takdah,).
271 of the plains (115 in Matigara, 78 in Naxalbari, 24 in Khoribari, 27 in Phansidewa, 27 in Sukuna) also test positive.
142 patients in NBMCH: (236 beds)
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 142 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 127 patients of which 56 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 33 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 31 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 7 in HDU (Trauma care centre).
In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 15 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 11 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1 and in surgical isolation ward.
New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.
414 Discharged:
414 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
