
Pen down strike by voluntaryteachers affects studies

YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, 1 SEPTEMBER 2023 : Studies at Munsong Higher Secondary School, Kalimpong, has been badly hit by the on-going pen down strike by voluntary teachers.
Only five permanent and three voluntary teachers are running the school where studies are conducted from Class V to Class XII.
The voluntary teachers who are teaching in the school from 2012-13 demand that they be made permanent.
Volunteer teacher Neetu Rai says they are not against the School Service Commission but want the contributions of the voluntary teachers to be appreciated.
Teacher-in-charge of the school Sanjay Thapa says the teaching schedule of the school has been badly affected as three voluntary teachers are on pen down strike.
