NH 10 opens for all types of vehicles with single lane traffic: huge jam
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 28 September 2023 : NH 10 is now opened by the administration for all types of vehicles including heavy carriers in a single lane.
After a day of opening the route in a single lane traffic for light vehicles now its opened for all but due to heavy traffic the movement is slow with traffic jam in between Kalijhora and Sevoke.
The road was closed in the morning of 24th September due to a huge cave-in at Seti Jhora and only on the fourth day the route was opened on 27th September.
T Balasubramanian, the District Magistrate of Kalimpong district stated that after completion of the restoration work only single lane traffic is permitted for all types of vehicles.
Meanwhile it is reported that the jam in Salugara and Kalijhora - Sevoke road is being cleared. According to the District Police administration, the stretch from coronation to Sevoke Railgate is narrow and frequent movement of trains and Railgate timings pose a big challenge to traffic clearance causing traffic jam very often during the day time.
