Raju Bista promises to bring funds for Mirik panchayats

YAWAN GURUNG, EOI, MIRIK, JULY 13, 2023 : With the BJP-led United Gorkha Alliance reining in the winning run of the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha in the hills of Darjeeling and Kalimpong in Mirik and forming the board of the panchayatsamiti and the majority of the gram panchayats in the sub-division, BJP M.P.of Darjeeling Raju Bista on Thursday said he would ensure that the panchayats under the UGA would do more work for the people than the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration run by the BGPM.

“The key to bring the budget is with me,” he said. “Now money will not come to GTA. Money will come directly to the panchayats,” he said. 

“Money will not be allowed to be stored any longer. ”The Centre, he said, had allocated hundreds of crores of rupees for the construction of roads, but roads had not reached the houses of common people.

“Only the roads leading to the houses of GTA sabhasads have been built. Now roads will reach the houses of poor people.” From August 15, money for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act would be transferred to the bank accounts directly.

”Congratulating the winning candidates of UGA and thanking the people of Mirik for electing them, Bista ruled out the possibility of the results being overturned by horse-trading. “We can beat them in this game,” he said
