Meeting on statue of Gopal Yonzon in Mirik

YAWAN GURUNG, EOI, MIRIK, JULY 19, 2023 : Members of the Mirik branch committee and central committee of Gopal Yonzon Foundation on Wednesday met Gorkhaland Territorial Sabhasad Milesh Rai and discussed the issue of the establishment of a statue of Gopal Yonzon, the renowned Nepali lyricist, singer and composer.
A concrete initiative will be taken in this regard after a meeting with GTA chief executive Anit Thapa on July 23 or July 25.
It had earlier been decided as per the suggestion of the GTA chief that a statue of the singer should be established at the Gopal Yonzon auditorium premises.
Mirik branch secretary of the Foundation Kesang Lama said the process of laying the foundation structure of the statue would start after the foundation stone was laid
