Khwairamband Ima Keithel Joint Co-ordinating Committee calls on Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan.

KalimNews, Imphal, 4 July 2023 : Representatives of Khwairamband Ima Keithel Joint Co-ordinating Committee called on Governor of Manipur, Miss Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan in Imphal today and apprized the prevailing situation in the aftermath of the ethnic clash between the two communities that broke out on 3rd May. 

They made a sincere request to the Governor to restore peace and tranquility in the State and to make arrangements to return the displaced people who have been taking shelter in different relief camps of both Valley and Hills Districts to their respective places. 

Governor advised them to extend their fullest cooperation to the Security Forces who are discharging their responsibilities to contain the situation and restore normalcy in the State. 

Governor reiterated that the State has been experiencing untold miseries for the last two months which are really affected in all spheres.
Governor reiterated that she has already kept informed the Prime Minister about the fateful incident and requested to extend all possible help to restore peace and normalcy in the State. 

In the meantime Commander, 25 BRTF, Colonel Atul Kumar called on Governor of Manipur at Raj Bhavan and apprized the Governor of the progress of work of fencing of Indo-Myanmar Border and the further work of fencing.
Governor advised the Commander to get the work expedited mainly to contain the illegal activities in the border areas as well as sneaking of insurgents and anti-social elements into the State from neighbouring countries. 

Further, Governor of Manipur also discussed this prevailing situation with Dr. Th. Meinya Singh, Ex-Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha. Governor informed him the common programme of actions already taken up, propose to be taken up by the Central and State Governments to bring peace and tranquility in the State at the earliest.
