Darjeeling issues left out of monsoon session Parliament agenda, says Binoy Tamang

EOI, SILIGURI, JULY 15, 2023 : It is very unfortunate that the issues related to Darjeeling hills, Siliguri Terai and Dooars and Gorkhas have not been included in the list of business in the coming monsoon session of Parliament to be held from July 20 to August 11, unattached political leader from the hills Binoy Tamang, now a sabhasad in the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration, has said in a statement.
“The top brass of the BJP should understand that it is the Darjeeling hills, Siliguri Terai and Dooars and the Gorkhas who have opened the account of the BJP in West Bengal in 2009. The present organizational and electoral strength of BJP in West Bengal today was not the same on and before 2009.
These facts are sidelined today - people of this region and the Gorkhas living across the country will give a fitting reply to BJP in 2024,” Tamang ha said.
“Now the time has come for all the people of Darjeeling hills, Siliguri Terai and Dooars and the Gorkhas living across the country to think and take the right decision.
Decisions taken by three or four leaders or three or four political parties in favour of the people should no longer be accepted. Now we have to take an alternative path and playa decisive role, so that we don't get cheated again and again. Now we should not be an electoral weapon or tool anymore.”
People need an answer to what M.P. Raju Bista and Minister John Barla have done on the political solution of Darjeeling Hill Terai and Dooars and the Gorkha and Adivasis till date, the former Gorkha Janmukti Morcha leader has asked.
He has demanded that M.P. Raju Bista must bring a permanent political solution and the issue of inclusion of11 left-out communities in the list of scheduled tribes by the end of the monsoon session of Parliament on August 11.
