
COCOMI to take stern actions against the lawmakers if they fail to convene special session of the state assembly on or before August 5
KalimNews, Imphal, 29 July 2023 : A mammoth rally with a huge crowd of people of different parts of Manipur started from THAU ground in Thangmeiband gathered at Palace Compound and held a meeting. The meeting was organised by Coordinating Committee for Manipur’s Integrity (COCOMI).
In the meeting leaders vehemently criticized the government and stated that this rally stand against Chin Kuki Narco-Terrorists and also warns MLAs and Ministers of serious consequences if they fail to take resolutions for protection of Manipur at State Assembly before August 5.
Over lakhs of people today participated the mass rally and reaffirmed their stand against Chin Kuki. The large number of people numbering nearly two lakhs, also unanimously agreed to take stern actions against the Manipur legislators if they fail to convene special session of the state assembly on or before August 5 and take resolution for protection of the Manipur’s territorial integrity.
The mass rally started from THAU ground in Thangmeiband and proceeded towards Khuyathong, Nagamapal, Wahengleikai, Keishampat, Keishamthong and snakes towards Moirangkhom and later towards Thombuthong and after crossing 6 km distance gathered at Palace Compound where a public meeting was held.
“Even after the first row reached at Hapta Kangjeibung ground, people continued to join the gathering ground at Hapta Kangjeibung even after the meeting was concluded at around 1 pm”.
Various slogans, festoons and placards denounced aggression to Manipur’s territory by armed Kuki Militants, SoO agreement between the government of India and Manipur with the Kuki militants, demands for separate administrations from Manipur were also rubbished during the rally.
Many participating the rally also strongly denounced the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the inaction of the Manipur’s Chief Minister N. Biren Singh to the violence in Manipur.
After reaching at Hapta Kangjeibung, the masses under the COCOMI had resolved as to exterminate Chin Kuki Narco-Terrorists and Foreign Illegal immigrants from the soil of Manipur to end the present conflict. The meeting further resolved to stand against arrangement of Separate Administration of any kind within the state of Manipur, immediate implementation of and updating of NRC. The meeting also urged the legislators to convene a special session of the State Assembly on or before August 5 to adopt some action-oriented resolutions to save Manipur.
The meeting also resolve to appraise the Prime Minister of India about the resolution adopted by the public today in connection with the Chin Kuki termed them as Narco Terrorists and illegal migrants, stand against Separate Administration from Manipur and the demand for immediate implementation of NRC.
