One arrested for selling liquour illegally to minor students

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 11 May 2023: Kalimpong Police has come into action against the sale of drugs and liquors to the students. Yesterday it arrested one person from Hat Bazar Relli Road for selling liquour illegally to school students.
After circulation of a viral video of a girl student in school uniform consuming alcohol and smoking in an unknown location. Kalimpong Town police team was mobilised to identify the location and conduct raid.
According to the Kalimpong Police the place was identified and a raid was conducted at the unlicensed shop. During the raid Anita Sharma (32yrs) wife of Sudip Sharma of Hat Bazar, Relli Road, under Kalimpong Police station was arrested .
Police could recover substantive amount of liquor stored from her residence without valid reason and the same has been confiscated and seized.
Police has started a case against her.
Only two days ago on 9th May a woman drug peddlar from Murgihatta was arrested for selling drugs to the students openly from a long time.
