HS result: Kalimpong ranks third in the state


KalimNews, Kalimpong, 24 May 2023: West Bengal Higher Secondary (HS) results have been announced, with an impressive overall pass percentage of 89.3%. 
Out of the 8.5 lakh students enrolled, 8.2 lakh appeared for the exams, and 7.3 lakh students successfully passed. Notably, the results were published within a commendable timeframe of 57 days. 
This year, 87 students featured in the top ten merit list out of which 46 are male and 41 are female students. Out of the 87 candidates, 18 are from Hooghly district, 12 are from South 24 Parganas district and 3 are from Kolkata. 

The highest mark was secured by Subhrangshu Sardar from Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, South 24 Parganas. Sardar scored 496 out of 500 i.e., 99.2%;
In the second position are Sushma Khan of Bankura Banga Vidyalaya;and Abu Sama of Ramkrishnapur PDGM High School (HS) of Chakulia of North Dinajpur district. They scored 495 out of 500 which is 99% . 

In the 3rd position are Chandrabindu Maiti of Tamluk Hamilton High School in East Medinipur, Anushuya Saha of Balurghat Lalit Mohan Adarsha Uchcha Vidyalaya in South Dinajpur, Piyali Das of Kamakhaguri Girls High School in Alipurduar and Shreya Mallick of Balurghat Lalit Mohan Adarsha Uchcha Vidyalaya in South Dinajpur (494 marks, 98.8 per cent).

In 4th position are Srijita Basak of Dangarhat High School, Dakshin Dinajpur, Narendranath Banerjee of of Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission, South 24 Parganas and Prerna Pal of Ichapur High School, North 24 Parganas - 98.6% (493/500) 

In the West Bengal HS Results declared today, boys have performed better than girls students. The overall pass percentage this year was 89.25%. 
East Midnapore district topped the list with the highest pass percentage of 95.77% followed by South 24-Parganas (94.88).
Kalimpong district is in the third position in total pass percentage of 94.27% among the other districts of the state.

Total examinees appeared in Kalimpong were- Male: 1577, Female: 1793, Total: 3370
Percentage of passed candidates are Male: 94.48%, Female: 94.09%, Total: 94.27%

Sneha Nepal of St. Philomena’s Girls High School scored the highest marks (465) - 93% in the district.

9. Premika Chhetri (Kalimpong Jubilee H.S)
10. Kumud Yadav (Bagrakote H.S)
11. Dawa Dem Sherpa (St.Philomena’s Girls H.S) 

Among the language subject topper Riya Kalikote of St.Philomena’s Girls H.S was declared topper of the state in Nepali language by scoring 477. The other topper of the states are Mh. Bilal in Urdu (487 marks) and Sili Tudu (488 Marks) in Santhali.

In the fifth position of the state, the following students have secured 492 marks each out of 500.
