Army jawan killed, 5 passengers injured in road accident
PRASHANT ACHARYA, EOI, SILIGURI, MAY 18, 2023: An army jawan was killed and five other passengers of a Tata Sumo sustained serious injured when the vehicle collided with a tractor near Prasadu Jote along Asian Highway II under Kharibari police station near Indo – Nepal border on Thursday morning.

A wheel of the Tata Sumo came loose and the driver lost control of the vehicle which hit the tractor head on.
The tractor driver was also injured in the accident. Rifleman Ganga Bahadur (27), a passenger of the Tata Sumo was killed on the spot.
The injured persons have been identified as Bahadur Chhetri, Prahlad Lamichhane, Usha Sharma, Tapan Nirola and Koiram Sharma ofArunachal Pradesh and Nepal
