SNS, SILIGURI, 25 APRIL 2023 : It indeed was good entertainment and serious education for the large n umber of participants and Visitors from various colleges of Darjeeling district at the Salesian College in Siliguri on April 24 and 25. The occasion was the much awaited inter-college media event, "Still in Motion."
The two-day event kicked off with an inaugural ceremony featuring a mellifluous medley of old and new Hindi songs by Avijeet Biwakarma, a student of the Mass Communication and Journalism Department of the Salesian College in the Marengo hall in the college.
The various competitions at the event started in the hall on April 24 with a photography contest held in two categories, namely "Pattern" for mobile photography and "Spectrum" for DSLR photography, which were held alongside a reels contest and a film quiz competition at the AV hall of the college. Three other competitions namely, a commercial ad film competition, a Reels on Whirls contest and a film quiz, were also held at the Savio Block during the day.
The second day of the event featured competitions on Elite Talk, Treasure Hunt and Press Conference, which attracted tremendous response and interest.
Hosts Salesian College, Siliguri, and DPMI College Siliguri were adjudged the overall winners.
The different competitions were judged by distinguished judges, namely Avijeet Sarkar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, North Bengal University a nd Darjeeling Hill University and founder-owner of "News at Nine" and special correspondent, NDTV, North Bengal and Sikkim; Parag Biswas, an award-winning journalist, actor, anchor, quiz master, commentator, educational trainer and internationally acclaimed filmmaker; Ashish Pradhan, Bureau In-Charge, The Statesman, Siliguri; Nishal Lama, founder and creative director at Beyond Crimson, Bangalore and an expert in photography, multimedia and content development; and noted cinematographer Richa Moitra.
