Kalimpong murder- Accused arrested and sent to court
YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, MARCH 31, 2023 : Lokendra Khadga (26) was brought to Kalimpong District Hospital with injuries late on Wednesday night. He died early on Thursday. Later on Thursday morning Kalimpong District Police arrested Rinchen Sherpa (18), resident of Chandralok, on charge of murder.
An official of Kalimpong police station said the accused was identified on the basis of CCTV footage. Lokendra of 8th Mile was pushed down the hill side by the accused, leading to head injuries to the victim.
The accused was hiding in a forest but was found by the police. The reason for the attack was believed to be an old quarrel. The accused was produced before the Kalimpong District Court on Friday.
