Sikkim to highlight organic farming, tourism, pharmaceuticals in B20 events

EOI, 14 March 2023, Gangtok: Sikkim will host the third of the four B20 events scheduled to beheld in the north-east, says a PIB release. The B20 event at Gangtok, slated to be held from March 15 to March 17, will highlight the opportunities for multilateral business, partnerships in tourism, hospitality, pharmaceutical and organic farming. 
Sikkim would highlight key activities undertaken in these sectors with focus on promoting investment in critical areas.
Extensive preparations have been made for the three-day event which will begin with a visit to M.G. Marg on the arrival of delegates. The second day will seethe B20 conference at Chintan Bhawan, followed by B2B and B2Gmeetings. The second day would also include a visit to Rumket Monastery and a dinner at Hotel Mayfair. The conference will conclude on the third day with the departure of the delegates.
A total of four B20 conferences have been planned in the north-east, with the main objective of showcasing the untapped potentials and opportunities of the region. Two conferences have already been held at Imphal and Aizawl. The B20 engagement group features participation from companies and business organizations. The B20 aims to mobilize global business leaders and unify their perspectives on issues of global economy and trade. Based on the discussions in these meetings, the final recommendations will form a part of the overall outcomes of the G20presidency of India
