PRASHANT ACHRYA, EOI, SILIGURI, DECEMBER 27, 2022: The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Siliguri Metropolitan Police and Ashighar police outpost on Tuesday afternoon arrested two persons along with brown sugar worth Rs 1.1 core in a joint operation.
They were travelling towards Siliguri from Malda. ACP Rajen Chhetri of Siliguri Metropolitan Police informed that a motor car was intercepted at Baneswar More Eastern Bypass and seized 650 gm of brown sugar.
KalimNews: The police intercepted one Maruti Suzuki Ertiga vehicle at Baneswar More Eastern bypass, and seized 650 gm of Brown Sugar from the joint possession of Dipak Sahani of Shantinagar, P.S. Dalkhola, Uttar Dinajpur and Ranjit Ray of Babangram, P.S. Raiganj, Uttar Dinajpur, who were travelling in the said vehicle.
"Both the accused persons have been arrested and the contraband drugs and vehicle are seized.
A specific case under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been started at Bhaktinagar P.S.
Investigation is on, stated the police.."
