SSC scam: Kalyanmoy Ganguly arrested

MP| 16 Sept 2022 | KOLKATA: CBI on Thursday arrested the former president of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE), Kalyanmoy Ganguly in connection with the ongoing SSC recruitment scam case.

Ganguly was interrogated at the Nizam Palace on Thursday for about six hours before he was held. Meanwhile, on Thursday CBI appealed for Partha Chatterjee's custody at the Special CBI Court in Alipore.

The matter is scheduled to be heard on Friday. Ganguly's name was mentioned in the report of a committee formed by the Calcutta High Court led by retired Justice Ranjit Bag.

It was alleged that Ganguly handed over appointments illegally and was recruiting on the basis of former advisor of West Bengal Central School Service Commission, Shanti Prasad Sinha's advice.
