One person arrested from Kalimpong : ISI agent arrested by STF

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 24 September 2022: A person is arrested from Kalimpong on the charge of espionage.
Special Task Force (STF) arrested Pir Mohammad (46) locally known as Samir Muslim from Murgi Hatta of Kalimpong and brought him to Bhowanipur. Mobile phone and laptop were recovered from the accused.
STF sleuths claimed that there are multiple allegations of information smuggling against the arrested Pir Mohammad.
Lately it is informed that he was produced at Kalimpong District Court and remanded to 10 days police custody. STF is investigating for further links and involvement of the accused in other cases.
Incidentally, a Pakistan ISI agent, Laal Mohammad (55), was killed in Nepal's capital Kathmandu by unidentified men outside his hideout on 19 September 2022. Laal Mohammad (55) alias Mohammad Darji—was the biggest supplier of fake Indian currency notes—a racket run at the behest of ISI. He used to get counterfeit Indian currency from Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh and then supplied it to India, reports said. It is being claimed that Mohammad gave logistics support to ISI, and had links with Indian mafia and terrorist Dawood Ibrahim and his crime syndicate D-company. He also provided asylum to other ISI agents.
The accused Pir alias Samir was residing in the area since some years with his family consisting of his wife, and school going son and daughter in his rented house. He use to do some business of supplying electronic goods as home service, said local residents. Through this he made friends with several local businessmen too.
According to the STF, Pir Mohammed adopted a novel way to communicate with the local residents. He used to give loan to various people of the area easily and espionage was going on behind the loan business.
Bhabani Bhawan Source stated that the accused was in regular contact with army chiefs in Rawalpindi and linked to ISI. STF detectives are also probing whether this Pakistani spy had any contact with that person.
According to Bhabani Bhawan sources, STF's preliminary investigation suggests that Pir Mohammed was based in the state to conduct espionage. ISI was in regular contact with him He kept in touch with ISI and Pak Army officials using sophisticated technology Multiple documents, diaries, books, maps of different areas of the state, multiple SIM cards, laptops and mobile phones have been recovered from the accused. Several apps were also used by the person. It is also assumed by the intelligence that they were in contact with the Pak Army commanders through those apps.
According to STF sources, the mobile phones recovered from the accused have been examined. Pictures of several Indian army camps have been found there. Detectives are investigating how he obtained the images. Apart from this, SIM card of Pakistan was also found from the accused.
The state police detectives are hoping that these documents will reveal important information about Pir Mohammed and his activities. According to Bhavani Bhavan sources, the search for this person was going on for the last few months and he was in police surveillance. He used to travel to different states of India to avoid arrest He used multiple pseudonyms and false identities.
The detective department of STF will examine the laptops and mobile phones recovered from him and If necessary they will be sent for forensic examination. Detectives fear that Pir Mohammed had a plan to carry out sabotage attacks in different areas of the state. Pictures of various important places and multiple Pakistani phone numbers have also been recovered from his mobile phone.
However, Pir Mohammad needs to be cross-examined to get more information on this matter So the STF can take him into their custody.
