Bangla quartet held on border

Sources said the quartet had infiltrated into India through an unfenced area with the help of three Indian touts when the on-duty BSF personnel had intercepted them

TT Bureau   |   Siliguri/Raiganj   |  24.09.22  : Four Bangladeshi nationals — all women — were apprehended by troops of the 15 battalion of the Border Security Force(BSF) posted at Pathanpara border outpost in Jalpaiguri district on Friday. 

Sources said the quartet had infiltrated into India through an unfenced area with the help of three Indian touts when the on-duty BSF personnel had intercepted them. They were on their way to Mumbai in search of jobs. 

Later, all the seven were handed over to Kotwali police. The arrested were Eity Akhtar of Bagerhat district, Samira Gaji of Jessore and two minors from Narayanganj district of the neighbouring country.

 The alleged touts were Arati Roy, Bipin Kishore Kaowa and Rathindra Roy, all from Jalpaiguri district. Pundibari police arrested Satyabrata Nath, a resident of Jatrapur Rajarhat, on Fridayand seized an improvised firearm.
