Ruling on GTA election by High Court on 24 June

KalimNews, JUNE 24, 2022, KALIMPONG: The expected verdict regarding a petition filed by Gorkha National Liberation Front on the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration Election 2022 may be issued on 24th June. GNLF had challenged the holding of GTA election at Calcutta High Court and an order was expected today but was deferred to the next day.
Justice Moushami Bhattacharya heard the petition and appeal of the state government stating its inability to hold the election when the process had already been begun and polling personnel with their election duty certificate have casted their votes. Justice Bhattacharya reserved her judgement for June 24 for the GTA election which is scheduled to be held on June 26.
