Apology by All India Women Conference (AIWC), president and secy general in response to the demand of BhaGoYuP

Nanda Kirati Dewan, KalimNews, 16 June 2022, New Delhi/ Guwahati : As demanded by the Gorkha community the  All India Women Conference (AIWC), president Ms. Sheela Kakde and Hon Secy General Ms. Kuljit Kaur tendered an unconditional apology to the Gorkha community of the nation as demanded by the Bharatiya Gorkha Yuva Parisangh ( BhaGoYuP) in our statement and others.

BhaGoYuP welcomed the apology in the form of audio statement from AIWC and have high regards for a Nine Decade old National Women Organisation.

BhaGoYuP has issued a statement which states "However we are yet to hear from the person concerned Ms. Chandra Prabha Pandey and will appreciate if this apology is issued in writing as a Press Statement like ours. "

BhaGoYuP's president N.K. Dewan has thanked all for their continued support and standing United against racial abuse and discrimination and also salutes Madam Aruna Pradhan for her uncompromising stand.

AIWC president Sheela Kakde stated that AIWC extends its heartfelt apology to the Gorkha community for the insensitive statement made by its member out of ignorance. It is informed that Kalimpong, Siliguri and Darjeeling branches of the AIWC and has been associated from many years and the members of these branches are sisters. They will be taking strong action against the member and she has been already asked to give the unconditional apology. 

Kuljit Kaur, the Honorary Secretary General also has clarified that it was not the view of the organisation.

"We love and respect the most patriotic citizens, our Gorkha brethren. We all are aware about the history of sacrifice by the nation in the past and always in present also. The Nepali language is a very much a part of our national language introduced in VIIIth schedule in 1992, we strongly oppose and condemn the ignorance shown by the member. On behalf of all the members of AIWC we extend unconditional apology towards dear Gorkha brethren", she said.
