Rains, snowfall to continue in North India; cold day warning in UP: IMD
The IMD has predicted more rainfall in some states for the next two days under the influence of a fresh western disturbance.

Tuesday 08 Feb: Dense fog (Visibility: 50-199m) likely to prevail at one or two places over Bihar and Odisha.
Wednesday 09 Feb: Nil.
Thursday10 Feb: Thunderstorms with lightning likely to occur at one o two places over Jharkhand and the districts of Gangetic West Bengal.
Friday 11 Feb: Nil
IndiaToday.in, New Delhi, February 7, 2022 : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted more rainfall in some states for the next two days under the influence of a fresh western disturbance.
In its daily bulletin, the IMD predicted that a fresh Western Disturbance and its induced cyclonic circulation are very likely to affect Northwest India from the night of February 8.
The weather agency also predicted severe cold conditions in parts of Uttar Pradesh in the next 48 hours.
Rainfall in Northwest, East India
According to the IMD, scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorm and lightning over Western Himalayan Region (over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) is expected during the night of February 8 and 9.
Fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning are likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and isolated rainfall over East Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan on February 9. Isolated hailstorm is also likely over West Uttar Pradesh on February 9, the IMD stated.
On the eastern front, isolated and scattered rainfall is likely over West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand and North Odisha on February 9 and 10.
Cold day warning
According to the IMD, cold day to severe cold day conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over East Uttar Pradesh during the next 48 hours. Cold day is also likely over West Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours and will abate thereafter.
Dense fog in eastern India
Dense fog conditions are very likely in isolated areas over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura in the night/morning hours during the next two days. The dense fog conditions are also likely over Odisha on February 9.
