Eco-Poetry'Tangsing' to hit shelves in Feb
SNS, SILIGURI, 23 JANUARY 2022 :A collection of Nepali eco-poetry, Tangsing,' penned by Rajaa will be available in bookstores this February.
Darjeeling-based poet Rajaa's poems focus on ecological issues like climate change and environmental degradation. A poet, author, lyricist, translator, actor, artist, Rajaa's series of poetry 'Arko Lashkar' (The Other Caravan) was published in 2013, while his eco-poem 'Tale of a Numb Planet has been included as reference material in a climate change curriculum at The Copenhagen Business School, Hillerod Dept, Denmark. Rajaa has also worked with some Nepali and English dailies, and his works have featured in journals/ magazines of India and Nepal.
The poet, who hails from Sukna near Siliguri in Darjeeling district, has started 'Multimedia Poetry', a new trend in visual poetry presentation, and he was the convener of the international literature festival 'Sangri-La Darjeeling Lit Fest' held in Siliguri in Darjeeling district in 2019.
"We are hopeful about the performance of Tangsing as we have already been receiving a satisfactory level of enquiries and pre-bookings. Tangsing has created a buzz of sorts right now," said Suraj Gurung, the publisher of Tangsing' and t he owner of Sambodhan Publication, Siliguri.
Mr Gurung added that the book will be marketed in India by BukAnt, while the reputed BookHill will be distributing the book in Nepal.
"We are starting BukAnt, a book distribution house, as the unique junction of ll sorts of Nepali books for entire India with the official distribution of Tangsing," he said.
